Frequently Asked Questions

Here are some frequently asked questions about getting an outdoor kitchen from Soleic. Do you have any other questions? Please call, email, or visit our showroom and we’ll answer your questions as quickly as possible.

  1. How much does an outdoor kitchen cost?

This is probably the number one question, but it is hard to answer briefly. Consider the question “How much does a house cost?” or “How much does a car cost?” The range can be quite wide. Here is how we can help you answer that question as efficiently as possible: Stop by our showroom. We will show you example projects and displays and tell you the cost. Then, tell us about your area and what you’d like to accomplish. We will visit your location and give you the best outdoor kitchen for the budget you tell us. You’ll receive a detailed quotation with complete design drawings, and an exact price. The price quote you receive is exactly what your project will cost, and that price will NOT creep up as the project progresses.

  2. Why do you want me to come to the showroom?

First, let us explain what you will NOT experience in the showroom. You won’t meet any pushy salespeople. You won’t be handed a brochure with the exact information on the website. Our outdoor kitchens are constructed from entirely different materials than other outdoor kitchen companies locally. If you have a competing bid, it probably is for a stucco or stone covered box with a couple of stainless steel access doors. If you’ve seen one quote for an outdoor kitchen like that, you’ve seen them all.  But a Soleic outdoor kitchen is different. We’d like to show you the specifics of how we build an outdoor kitchen. You’ll see and feel the quality first hand. We’ll show you how we build bar seating areas, how we can do wall cabinets that other outdoor kitchen methods simply don’t have. You’ll see the colors and door styles we offer. You’ll learn about our actual construction methods and how they’ll withstand time and weather. You’ll see the different styles of cabinetry that we can use in your design. You’ll get a real education on outdoor kitchens without wasting your time. And most importantly, you’ll be able to tell US what features you like and what is important to you. That kind of interaction is ultimately how we’ll be sure we design the perfect outdoor kitchen for YOU.

  3. What exactly is this weatherproof material you use?

The cabinetry we use is made from the best, marine-grade high density polyethylene. It is a very dense, heavy material that won’t absorb any moisture. It is extremely stain and scratch resistant, and it won’t fade in the sun. It isn’t PVC or vinyl, which chalks, yellows, or becomes brittle over time. It isn’t like Trex brand board which contains wood and other organic compounds. It is a proven material that has been used in the boating industry for over 20 years, and has been used to make outdoor cabinetry since 2001.

  4. How do I get started?

Please stop by our showroom any time to see exactly what we offer. If you can snap a few pictures of your area it will help the initial discussion. When you visit, we’ll schedule a convenient time to collect measurements and any other necessary information before preparing your free custom outdoor kitchen design.

  5. How long does it take to get an outdoor kitchen?

Designs are typically created within one to three days depending on their complexity. We welcome requests for re-designs and changes, so the amount of time spent on your design depends on how long you need to be satisfied that the design meets your needs. Once the design is finalized, your cabinetry will be made-to-order. This typically takes 2-3 weeks. During that period, you can select your granite slab (assuming you prefer granite countertops).  Your installation can also be scheduled at the time you order. Installation is usually completed in 1-2 days (without countertops).  Countertop installation is typically completed within 1-7 days of your installation. Any finishing touches will be completed at this point. We take great pride in efficient, precise, quality installations. You may have experienced a never-ending home improvement project elsewhere, but that won’t happen with us!

  6. Do you cost more or less than competitors?

Of course the best way to answer this question is to get a free, no-obligation quote from us.  And naturally, every project is unique, but we can address this question best by explaining some important differences between a Soleic outdoor kitchen and other outdoor kitchens. The primary difference between our outdoor kitchens and others is the quality of our materials. Our outdoor kitchens are built from the best weatherproof material available, period. So many other outdoor kitchens are built from inferior materials that cost less.  But the story doesn’t end there. The fabrication and installation (think labor costs) of other outdoor kitchens is much higher than ours. Competitors will have more trips to-and-from the project site, more time assembling framed structures in the field, more time waiting for paint, grout, stucco, concrete, etc. to dry.  You’ll pay more in LABOR with competitors.  The stainless steel access doors that competitors use aren’t exactly cheap, but they won’t withstand weather like our cabinetry does. With us, quality materials and an efficient installation means the VALUE that you get is tremendous. Our cabinetry is maintenance free and never needs painting, staining, and sealing. That means a Soleic outdoor kitchen will look like new for years and years and years. That might not mean we’re the cheapest option, but we are the best value. Competitors that use cheap materials plus lots of labor plus, plus expensive stainless steel doors can’t build something that withstands the weather like we can, so one could argue that there is no comparison. Being realistic, you probably ARE comparing us. We have seen competing quotes with prices all over the board. Sometimes other methods cost less, quite often they don’t. For any outdoor appliance we carry, that’s simple. You won’t beat our prices. For the entire outdoor kitchen project, we have a tremendous advantage in the value we can put into your home. That value stays with your home long after the project is done. But again, the best way to answer this question is to come see us and let us help you with an exact price quote.

  7. Can I buy just the cabinets from you?

If you are a contractor, builder, do-it-yourselfer, or even an outdoor kitchen provider, you can buy just the “parts” from us. We can still help you with the design as we want you to buy the right parts. Just tell us how we can help you and we’ll accommodate your unique situation.
